What MKX charges and pays out when you sell USDT

The Fee Schedule carries no date of its own, so the date above is the day these rows were last read.

Rows a seller does not meet, such as the charge for sending crypto to an outside wallet, are in the full list of AED and crypto withdrawal fees.

Worked example: 2,500 USDT

Sell 2,500 USDT at AED 3.66 per USDT, an illustrative price and not a quote, and the sale is worth AED 9,150.00. The 1.5% fee is AED 137.25. The withdrawal fee, read here as AED 30, comes off next, so AED 8,982.75 reaches your bank. The two charges total AED 167.25, about 1.83% of the sale.

The Fee Schedule does not say whether the 1.5% comes out of the AED or the USDT. The result is the same.

Trade-offs to weigh before you send USDT

  • The withdrawal fee is fixed, so it weighs more on a small payout: read as AED 30, it is 30% of a minimum AED 100 withdrawal and about 0.33% of the example's AED 9,012.75.
  • Identity verification comes first: Emirates ID or passport, a liveness check, minimum age 18.
  • AED is paid by bank transfer only; the Fee Schedule lists no other payout method.

From USDT to AED in your MKX account

Three actions in the MKX app or on the web, once your identity is verified.

  1. 1 Deposit USDT to your MKX address

In your MKX wallet, pick one of the five USDT networks and copy the deposit address shown for it. Send from your own wallet on the same network. The minimum is 1 USDT and MKX charges 0.

  2. 2 Convert USDT to AED at the quoted price

Choose USDT to AED and enter the amount. The first figure is indicative. The trade execution screen shows the final price and the 1.5% fee before you confirm.

  3. 3 Request the AED payout to your bank

Start a withdrawal from your AED balance and enter your UAE bank account details. The minimum is AED 100 and the fee is listed as 30. MKX pays by bank transfer.

These steps cover MKX's own screens only; the full guide to selling USDT in Dubai walks through the whole procedure, including what happens on the bank's side.

These are the five networks on the MKX Fee Schedule. On each, the deposit fee is 0 and the minimum is 1 USDT. The wallet or platform you send from sets its own network fee, which is not an MKX charge. Each label is defined in the glossary of network and off-ramp terms.

Match the network to the address

Send on the network whose MKX deposit address you copied. ERC20 and TRC20 addresses are different rails, and USDT sent on a network that does not match the address may not be credited.

AED payout to your UAE bank account

The payout terms MKX publishes

MKX pays AED by bank transfer to a UAE bank account. The minimum withdrawal is AED 100 and the Fee Schedule lists a fee of 30 on each one. Because the fee is fixed, one larger payout costs less in proportion than several small ones.

To withdraw crypto to a bank account in the UAE through MKX you sell it first: what reaches your bank is the AED from the sale, the last leg of a USDT to AED bank transfer. MKX does not say whether the receiving account must be in your own name, or how long a payout takes to arrive. No maximum withdrawal is published either.

MKX pays AED by bank transfer and describes no cash handover anywhere on its live site; to cash out crypto in Dubai in banknotes, see the guide's answer on selling USDT for cash.

For a large or business sale, the MKX terms list OTC trading through an OTC desk and the live site describes business accounts, but no size threshold is published, so contact MKX about a large sale before you deposit.

How MKX quotes the AED price

MKX is a broker-dealer: you sell to MKX at a price it quotes, and there is no order book. Anyone looking for a USDT to AED exchange in Dubai should know that difference.

The first price the converter shows is indicative, not a quotation. The final price and the fee are displayed on the trade execution screen, which is the one to read before you confirm.

MKX names Binance as its primary external liquidity provider and sets prices from market conditions and the liquidity available there. Its Best Execution Policy weighs price, speed, likelihood of execution and cost.

MKX does not publish its spread, the gap between its quote and a market reference. The 1.5% fee is therefore not the whole cost of a sale: compare the AED per USDT on the execution screen with an independent reference. This page promises no rate.

Where your AED sits before the payout

Between the sale and the payout your dirhams are in a Client Money Account, which the MKX terms describe as a designated safekeeping account with a regulated financial institution licensed in the UAE; the terms do not name the institution. It is not a deposit or investment account, and the money earns no interest. The terms also state that clients' virtual assets and fiat are not covered by any deposit protection mechanism from MKX.

The security page sets out how client money is held.

No deposit protection

An AED balance at MKX is client money in safekeeping, not a bank balance.

Questions about selling USDT at MKX

What does MKX charge when I sell USDT?

MKX charges 1.5% of the transaction when you convert USDT to AED, nothing on the USDT deposit, and a fee listed as 30 on each AED bank withdrawal. In the 2,500 USDT example on this page the two charges come to AED 167.25. The spread is not published, so check the quoted price as well.

What is the smallest amount I can sell and withdraw at MKX?

The smallest USDT deposit is 1 USDT and the smallest AED bank withdrawal is AED 100, both from the MKX Fee Schedule. No minimum or maximum is published for the conversion itself. Because the withdrawal fee is a fixed 30, a payout close to AED 100 loses a large share of its value to it.

Which networks can I use to deposit USDT at MKX?

Five networks are on the MKX Fee Schedule for USDT: ERC20, BEP20, TRC20, Polygon PoS and Solana. The deposit fee is 0 and the minimum is 1 USDT on each. Send only on the network that matches the deposit address shown in your MKX wallet.

Does the UAE bank account have to be in my own name?

MKX does not publish this rule. The Fee Schedule gives the AED withdrawal minimum and fee, and the terms describe the Client Money Account, but neither says whether the receiving account must carry the name of the verified MKX account holder. Ask MKX support before your first withdrawal and plan to use an account in your own name.

Can I sell Bitcoin or other assets for AED at MKX?

Yes. The live MKX site has sell pages for Bitcoin and Ether as well as USDT, and the Fee Schedule gives one crypto to fiat fee, 1.5% per transaction, for the ten assets it lists. The terms name only seven, so to sell crypto in Dubai other than USDT, confirm in your account that the asset is supported before you send it.

This page covers MKX's bank route only; the selling guide compares it with peer-to-peer and cash desks under three ways to turn USDT into AED. MKX gives no tax advice; the same guide covers tax when you sell USDT in the UAE. Transfer times are among the deposit and withdrawal questions in the MKX FAQ.
