Learn: guides to USDT, Bitcoin and crypto rules in the UAE
MKX Learn explains how to buy and sell virtual assets with AED in the UAE, what a VARA licence covers and how to check one, in guides drafted by the MKX research team, reviewed by compliance and dated every time they change.

The owner and/or investor in the Virtual Asset can lose all the money or other value they invest, and does not benefit from any form of financial protection. Three guides, in reading order
- The rules first: is crypto legal in Dubai?
- Buying: how to buy USDT in Dubai by bank transfer
- Cashing out: how to sell USDT and withdraw AED
New to crypto in the UAE? Read them in this order. Each guide opens with the answer and its key points.
What MKX Learn covers and who it is for
MKX Learn is the guides section of MKX, a Dubai broker-dealer licensed by VARA for Broker-Dealer Services, reference VL/25/04/001. It covers the questions people ask before they move dirhams into virtual assets for the first time, and the ones they ask when they want the dirhams back: whether cryptocurrency in the UAE is legal and who regulates it, how to buy USDT with AED by bank transfer, how to sell USDT and withdraw AED to a UAE bank account, which network to choose for a transfer and what the whole journey costs.
The guides are written for UAE residents who are new to cryptocurrency in Dubai and want a starting point, and for readers who land on one guide from a search and want the next one. They assume no prior knowledge. Each guide starts with the answer, walks through the steps in order and links to the glossary for the terms it uses. A reader who already holds USDT can go straight to the selling guide. A reader who has not opened an account anywhere should begin with the guide to the rules, because the first step in the other two is the same: look the firm up on the VARA public register before you send it money.
Three things separate a guide from a product page. The buying and selling guides compare routes, such as a licensed firm, a peer-to-peer marketplace and a cash or OTC desk, while a product page describes MKX's own service only. A guide cites primary sources: the VARA rulebook and public register, the UAE Government portal, the token issuer's own pages and MKX's published Fee Schedule and terms, each listed with the date it was read. And a guide shows its dates: the day it was published and the day it was last updated, which changes when a cited fee, rule or register entry changes.
The guides are for information only. They are not investment, legal or tax advice, they make no price predictions and they do not recommend buying, holding or selling any virtual asset. MKX has an interest in the subject, because it earns 1.5% on each trade a client makes. Where a guide uses MKX as its worked example, the figures come from the Fee Schedule and match the page on MKX fees and minimums.

Key terms
Ten terms the guides use most. Each is defined in one sentence, with an MKX example, in the crypto glossary for UAE users.
USDT · TRC20 · ERC20 · VARA · VASP · Broker-dealer · KYC · Client Money Account · Custody · OTC desk
Questions about accounts, identity checks and AED transfers have their own page of frequently asked questions.
Why the network matters
USDT exists on several networks. A transfer sent on a network the receiving wallet does not support can be lost, which is why TRC20 and ERC20 lead the list.
Who writes MKX Learn
Both roles are placeholders in this prototype: each must be replaced by a named person whose position and qualifications can be checked. The editorial policy sets out how MKX guides are written and reviewed, including the use of AI, and the About page describes the company behind MKX Learn.
Not investment advice
The guides explain methods, costs and rules. They do not rank providers and they do not tell you what to buy, hold or sell.
Recently updated
A guide's updated date changes only when its content changes. Corrections are shown on the page with a dated note.
Start with the USDT buying guide
It compares the routes, then follows a bank transfer from a UAE account to USDT in five steps. Virtual assets are volatile and you can lose all the money you invest.
