What MKX charges to buy USDT
Buying USDT (Tether) with AED at MKX has three published costs. The bank deposit that funds the order is charged 0%. The conversion from dirhams to USDT is charged 1.5% of the transaction. Sending the USDT to a wallet outside MKX costs a fixed 5 USDT, and the Fee Schedule lists no charge for keeping it in your account.
| Charge | Fee | Minimum |
|---|---|---|
| AED bank deposit | 0% | AED 380 |
| Trading fee, AED to USDT (fiat to crypto) | 1.5% | Not published |
| USDT withdrawal, internal | 0 | 15 USDT |
| USDT withdrawal, external | 5 USDT | 15 USDT |
The Fee Schedule page shows no date of its own, so the date above is the day these figures were last checked against it. MKX does not publish a spread, so the price on the trade screen is the second number to check before you confirm.
The fees and minimums for Bitcoin, Ether and the other listed assets are on the MKX fees page.
Worked example: AED 3,000
You send AED 3,000 from your bank. The deposit fee is 0%, so AED 3,000 reaches your MKX balance. Converting all of it carries the 1.5% trading fee, which is AED 45, and the remaining AED 2,955 is converted at the price shown on the trade execution screen. How much USDT that buys depends on the price at that moment, so no exchange rate is printed here. If you later withdraw to an external wallet, MKX charges a further 5 USDT.

- Trading fee 1.5% of AED 3,000

Not a quote. The USDT amount is set by the price MKX shows before you confirm.
From AED to USDT in your MKX account
The order is placed online, in the MKX app for iPhone or Android or on the web platform. Three screens matter.
-
1 Verify your identity
After you register, MKX asks you to upload an Emirates ID or a passport and to complete a liveness check. You must be at least 18. MKX's own product pages say verification is usually completed within minutes.
-
2 Send AED from your UAE bank account
Fund the account by bank transfer in dirhams from a local UAE bank account. The minimum deposit is AED 380 and MKX charges 0% on it. How long a transfer takes to reach your balance is not published.
-
3 Convert AED to USDT at the quoted price
Choose USDT and enter the amount. The first price you see is indicative, not a quotation. The final price and the 1.5% fee are displayed on the trade execution screen before you confirm.
This page lists only what happens on MKX's screens. The reasoning behind each step, from checking a licence to the first withdrawal, is in the step-by-step guide to buying USDT in Dubai.

USDT networks you can withdraw on at MKX
USDT bought at MKX can stay in the hosted wallet in your account, or you can withdraw it. The Fee Schedule lists five networks for USDT and prints the same minimum and the same fees for each of them.
| Network on the Fee Schedule | Blockchain | Minimum | Internal fee | External fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ERC20 | Ethereum | 15 USDT | 0 | 5 USDT |
| BEP20 | BNB Smart Chain | 15 USDT | 0 | 5 USDT |
| TRC20 | Tron | 15 USDT | 0 | 5 USDT |
| Polygon-POS | Polygon PoS | 15 USDT | 0 | 5 USDT |
| SOL | Solana | 15 USDT | 0 | 5 USDT |
One fee is listed for all five networks. Internal is a transfer between MKX accounts. External is a withdrawal to an address outside MKX.
The Fee Schedule attaches a network to a deposit or a withdrawal, not to the conversion. If you buy USDT with a bank transfer and want it on TRC20, you choose TRC20 when you withdraw, and the same holds for the other four networks.
Which network suits which wallet is Step 5 of the guide to buying USDT in Dubai with AED, and the glossary explains TRC20, ERC20 and other network terms.
Match the network to the receiving wallet
The withdrawal network must be one that the receiving wallet or platform supports for USDT. A transfer cannot be reversed once it is sent.
Who can open an account
MKX is licensed in Dubai and takes dirhams from UAE bank accounts. The table sets out what MKX and the VARA register say about who can buy USDT in the UAE through it, and marks what is not published.
| Minimum age | 18 or over |
|---|---|
| Identity documents | Emirates ID or passport, uploaded during sign-up, and a liveness check |
| Investor classes | Retail, qualified and institutional investors. The licence condition on the VARA register permits MKX to serve all three. |
| Business accounts | Offered. A business can convert AED to Tether and other listed assets and withdraw to its business account. The onboarding documents are not published. |
| Where you live | Not published. MKX does not state whether a UAE residence visa is required, or whether residents of Abu Dhabi and the other emirates are onboarded on the same terms as Dubai residents. |
| Payment method | AED bank transfer from a UAE bank account. Card and cash payments are not confirmed. |
How your AED and USDT are held
Your dirhams sit in a Client Money Account, which the MKX terms describe as a designated safekeeping account with a regulated financial institution licensed in the UAE and not as a deposit or investment account. For USDT, the terms name the Wallet Custody Services Provider: Fireblocks. Clients' virtual assets and fiat are not covered by any deposit protection mechanism from MKX.
The security page describes the custody and client money arrangements and the account controls listed in the terms.

What to weigh before you use MKX
Five points about MKX itself, taken from its own Fee Schedule and product pages.
-
The fee is a visible 1.5%
MKX charges 1.5% of every conversion and shows it as its own line. Some other routes advertise a smaller percentage, so set the whole cost of each route side by side.
1.5% per conversion
-
Identity verification comes first
MKX verifies every client with an ID upload and a liveness check before a purchase. It does not offer a purchase without identification.
-
AED arrives by bank transfer only
The MKX buy pages name one funding route: a transfer from a UAE bank account. Card and cash payments are not confirmed.
-
The minimum deposit is AED 380
You cannot fund the account with less, so trying MKX with a smaller first transfer is not possible.
AED 380 minimum bank deposit
-
An external withdrawal costs a fixed 5 USDT
The fee does not shrink with the amount. On the 15 USDT minimum it is a third of the withdrawal, on 500 USDT it is 1%, so it weighs most on small orders.
5 USDT per external withdrawal
How a licensed broker-dealer compares with card purchases, peer-to-peer marketplaces and cash desks is covered once, under "Four ways people buy USDT in the UAE" in the MKX guide on how to buy USDT in Dubai.
Compare the total, not one percentage
Add the trading fee, the gap between the quoted price and a market reference, and the withdrawal fee for the amount you plan to move. The fees page works through the method on a small order, next to the full fee table for every asset.
Questions about buying USDT at MKX
What is the smallest amount of USDT I can buy at MKX?
The only published minimum on the way in is the AED 380 bank deposit. The MKX Fee Schedule states no minimum order size for a conversion, so the smallest USDT purchase is not published. On the way out there is a floor: a USDT withdrawal starts at 15 USDT, so a balance below that cannot be sent to another wallet.
What does it cost to buy USDT at MKX?
MKX charges 1.5% of the transaction when AED is converted to USDT, and 0% on the AED bank deposit that funds it. On an AED 3,000 order the trading fee is AED 45. Sending the USDT to an external wallet afterwards costs a fixed 5 USDT, while an internal transfer costs nothing. MKX does not publish a spread, so check the quoted price as well.
Which networks can I withdraw USDT on from MKX?
Five networks are listed for USDT on the MKX Fee Schedule: ERC20, BEP20, TRC20, Polygon-POS and SOL. The published terms are the same for each: a minimum withdrawal of 15 USDT, no fee for an internal transfer and 5 USDT for an external one. Use the network your receiving wallet supports, because a transfer cannot be reversed.
Do I have to withdraw my USDT after I buy it?
No. The MKX terms describe a hosted Digital Asset Wallet, so USDT bought with AED can stay in your account. From there you can sell it for AED, or withdraw it once you hold at least 15 USDT. While it stays with MKX it is not covered by any deposit protection mechanism from MKX, as the terms state.
Can a business buy USDT through MKX?
Yes. The MKX live site offers business accounts that convert AED to Tether and other listed assets and withdraw to the company's business account. The VARA register permits MKX to serve institutional, qualified and retail investors. The documents a company must supply are not published, so contact MKX support before you apply.
Can I sell USDT back to AED at MKX?
Yes. The same account converts USDT to AED for the same 1.5% trading fee, and the dirhams can be withdrawn to a UAE bank account from AED 100. The Fee Schedule lists the AED withdrawal fee as 30. The page on how to sell USDT for AED sets out the payout terms and a worked example.
Other questions have their own pages: whether crypto is legal in Dubai, how to choose a network and how long a purchase takes in the step-by-step USDT buying guide, and answers on accounts, KYC and AED transfers in the FAQ.
